Some things I've yet to figure out.

So I’ve been back in Singapore for about 4 months but I realise that there are so many things that I’ve yet to change about my lifestyle in Melbourne.

#1. Laundry - I still haven’t come to terms with the fact that we don’t own a dryer. So I always forget to do my laundry during the day and end up having smelly clothes from being left in the washer too long. Then, rinse and repeat. So far, I think I might have only done ONE round of successful wash and dried laundry? And here, you have to wait for the sun if not your clothes won’t dry. Don’t even talk about ironing.

#2. Transport - Having been able to walk everywhere in Melbourne, it sucks that I can’t really do the same here. You probably can, but with the heat and the recent rains, honestly, it makes it quite a feat to go anywhere.

#3. Meals - Still not used to having not to plan my own meals, and eating in most of the time. It’s a good thing though, I get regular cooked meals and also healthy stuff. I’m not complaining. Just not used to the routine I guess.

#4. Friends - Not that I don’t have any. It’s just different. We used to hang out every single night, drinks or meals or even just sitting around not doing anything (and the regular late night maccas run). But it’s true, everyone has family and such here, working hours are long, we don’t have much spare time anymore? So it seems anyway.

#5. Weather - Biggest issue for me, I’m sad that I don’t get to wear nice coats or boots anymore :( Most of my clothes have kinda gotten stuck at the back of the cupboard since I don’t layer as much anymore. Plus, I won’t get to go snowboarding midyear. Ohwell.

I’m not having a gripe about life here in Singapore, I think I just miss Melbourne and the life there perhaps.
